"Overdue" is about saying how you feel in a completely open and transparent way. There is no subtlety, as it is an over-the-top rollercoaster of feelings and dynamics. It is a brave endeavour for us both because the subject of love in our music is usually more subtle and controlled, and as men we are not accustomed to presenting our feelings in such an open and dramatic fashion. Finally, as a band we are overdue for the release of new original music, so this song is a good fit to get us back in the swing of releasing new music.

This first album is the culmination of several years of work. We decided we wanted to make a record that was funky, sexy, future-y and fun, but we honestly didn’t really know where to start. It started with songwriting, as these things so often do. We first wrote and arranged “Work It Out”, putting it under a microscope and being as deliberate as possible every step of the way. Once we finished that song it became obvious what we were shooting for and things sort of fell into place. We had such a blast making this record - it was a great collaboration of musicianship, songcraft, and pure fun and creativity. There were no bad ideas, only ideas we eventually cut because they weren’t the absolute best, and that’s a fun way to work. We are so stoked to share this record with the world and even MORE stoked for what’s to come!
